USPS prohibits the shipping of live poultry between 2 days and 6 weeks of age.

​

USPS allows the shipping of live poultry between April 1st and August, under the following circumstances:

​

Day-old poultry must be shipped in a USPS-approved container ($6).

Day-old poultry must be shipped using USPS PRIORITY MAIL ($25).

​

6-week old poultry must be shipped in a USPS-approved container ($15).

6-week old poultry must be shipped using USPS PRIORITY EXPRESS ($125).

​

Live poultry must be shipped on a Monday or Tuesday, with adjustments for holidays, to ensure arrival at the final destination within 72 hours.

​

Live poultry must be shipped without food or water, so timely acceptance of delivery and initial care is very important.

​

​​Arrangements for pickup must be made within 72 hours of order.
